When I first came through the doors and looked at the equipment, I was slightly intimidated but I met Barry and he put me at ease quickly. When we both sat down and did a consultation I was very excited about the next steps and getting going. It’s now gone well beyond that…
When I began soon after, I was partnered with Michael as my personal trainer and he equally has been very comforting in terms of my fitness goals, mental health and days that are maybe a bit more challenging than others. It really has given me an opportunity to put out stress and work towards goals we have set for ourselves.
I would say if you’re not coming here you’re making a bad decision, you should definitely be meeting with Barry and meeting with michael, talking about fitness goals and making yourself a priority, i know for myself since i’ve come here i’m more confident, i feel like i have a family here , it’s a lot more than just coming to workout then just leaving i consider them friends and family, i strongly suggest everybody because it really changed my life and its a commitment i’d never waiver for coming!
I have done volunteer work here, and the leadership here at InsideOut is phenomenal. They really do make you feel like family and are supportive on ideas you have and it feels like you are making an impact. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for experience as well as a great team that will back you!
Me and my wife took Pt sessions just prior to our ski holidays. i have witnessed considerable strength on all my muscles especially my tendons/back and arms are ready for the ski. i also had shoulder pain and strain since 7 months which eased with the training Barry had guided me.

I joined InsideOut as a client as soon as gyms were able to re-open in July 2021 and have been training with Michael twice a week since then. InsideOut was the perfect choice for me as I was nervous about joining a traditional “gym” with high volumes of people and classes in the current COVID-19 pandemic environment. I had been researching fitness studios and knew InsideOut was the perfect fit – a smaller boutique-type fitness studio focused on providing personal training and an individualized and holistic approach to health and wellness – I highly recommend the team at InsideOut!!!
Reminders about COVID-19 hygiene protocols are posted all around the studio and constant gentle reminders to wipe down equipment and use the amply supplied hand sanitizer made me feel safer about working out indoors. In addition, during the warmer weather months, there is an outdoor courtyard space that we could hold our workouts in that was a great alternative to indoor workouts. Even when the colder weather forced us to move inside, physical distancing between training teams is always in practice and Barry ensures a low density of training teams in the studio at any one time.
Michael is one of the best trainers that I have had the pleasure of working with – I appreciate his positive coaching style and his workouts are always varied – never the same routine twice! – which keeps me motivated and enthusiastic about each workout. He is always willing to adapt his training program – early on, I expressed an interest in learning some boxing moves and punches after seeing the gloves and bag at the studio – and he incorporated a boxing routine into my weekly program. This is now one of the highlights of my week!!! He is an intuitive trainer as well – he knows how to keep me motivated, help me to push my limits gradually so I feel like I’m making progress with my fitness but not beyond my limits.
I am so grateful to Barry and Michael and the InsideOut team for creating a safe space to be able to continue improving my fitness and for their genuine interest in health and wellness – keep up the great work team!!!
I joined InsideOut Health and Fitness about 4 months ago and have trained primarily with Barry Samuel. The small gym atmosphere is very welcoming and within a short team I felt really comfortable and as though I was part of the family. Barry really listened to my goals and where I wanted to improve. The whole team is very motivating, positive and really kept me on track. They know how to push you to get results without overwhelming you. I have noticed huge improvements, not only by losing weight but also in my strength and cardiovascular endurance. I would highly recommend this gym and the team if you are ready to see results.
As a person who has spent a lifetime trying to enjoy fitness but never really succeeding, working with Barry at Insideout Fitness Studio has completely revolutionized my perspective. In preparation of doing a charity cycle I felt the need to increase my core strength and I looked to Inside Out Studio for help getting me physically stronger and ready. For the last eight months I have worked with Jack Malone who is skilled, thoughtful, personable, and is not afraid to push me to the limit. I know that I am stronger and have greater endurance thanks to his workouts. The studio and the trainers provide a caring atmosphere with excellent one-on-one attention.
As a regular personal training client I am deeply indebted to Barry and the team at InsideOut for helping to make my fitness goals a reality!! Workouts are never “burnouts” and I am always so amazed at how tight and toned I feel after just having a fun time! Kudos ISO!!!!
I’ve been going to insideout for about 11 years now. It has to be one of the best things that I have done in recent years for my fitness and entertainment. At first Barry’s instructions and supervision got me in much better condition. For several years I’ve been a regular (pretty much) keeping the old body in running condition.
I came to the Studio to work on both my strength and balance. I enjoy working with my trainer and the fact that he can be flexible with my training hours. I have been training at InsideOut for the last 3 years, and am the most fit I have ever been in my life. I am 48 years old and have never had the motivation to continue a workout regiment to maintain fitness. Over the last 10-15 years my weight has slowly crept upwards and so has my waist size. My exercise history has been one of brief episodes of a committed strategy and long episodes of no exercise. That being said I know and want the lifestyle benefits of a healthy lifestyle that includes exercise.
My decision to start coming to InsideOut has given me that things I was lacking in doing it myself. I have for the first time in my life a personal trainer that ensures I come to the sessions, make sure I vary my exercise regime to maximize the benefit of the session and that I push myself rather than simply go thru the motions.
Since coming to InsideOut I am definitely stronger, have more energy and lost weight. I cannot say enough how helpful the staff are at InsideOut, and the benefits of a personal trainer in making the lifestyle choice of better fitness and health. It has made a difference in my life.

Really digging the training sessions with Barry. With cycling season about done, this is the greatest way to get into good winter habits to stay fit, strong and healthy instead of hibernating until spring. The studio has all the amenities for a great workout regime, is super clean, and Barry is fantastic!
InsideOut is a very friendly relaxed atmosphere for working out. Their personal trainers pay attention to your goals and are very knowledgeable and great motivators. They have put together a awesome workout program for me and I am getting some great results.

My name is Ida Copelovici and I am 60 years old. I have been working out at Insideout both before its inception, privately with its principal, Barry Samuel, and after its inception until the present day. This year, I have also been working out with Jack Malone, who is a wonderful, gifted and highly qualified trainer. I have been very happy with Insideout. Barry and his staff have helped me to meet my goal of keeping my body in the best shape it can be and, for the most part, injury-free. When I have been working through injuries, I found Barry and his staff to be extremely knowledgeable and patient in guiding me back to physical health. Barry and I have had many interesting discussions about digestion, supplements, diet, stretching and other valuable topics. I am very happy with my workouts at Insideout and feel that they have helped me to preserve and improve both my physical and mental health.
I’ve tried getting healthy my entire life. Sometimes successful. Sometimes not. I’ve always had a goal and once I hit that goal, it went back up again. I looked at myself in the mirror one day and that’s when I realized I wanted to change… From that point on, I decided to change.
I joined Insideout Health & Fitness Studio in January of 2014. I had set a New Year’s resolution to be more active, especially after all my holiday treats! I never stay on track at a large scale gym on my own so I decided to try some personal training sessions. I found their rates a bit cheaper than other studios I was looking at so I decided to give it a try. The studio is in a really great area of Toronto (Leaside) that I was unfamiliar with prior to joining. My first impression of the studio was good! The studio has a small change room with a shower. Both very clean, which was something I always disliked about other gyms I have had a membership at. They have a treadmill, elliptical, rowing machine and stationary bike so I can switch up my cardio. They have a lot of different equipment for various exercises.
I signed up for some personal training, which I was apprehensive about at first but the studio manager and my trainer had such great energy, I couldn’t help but be excited to start working out right away. My first session was free and started with a really relaxed conversation about my overall health, not only physically, but mental as well!
My trainer is great. He pushes me every session and we’ve never done the same workout twice. I’ve never felt this great, mentally and physically. I have attended one of their yoga classes. I don’t personally enjoy yoga, but it was still a nice activity. I would recommend this studio to anyone who wants to simply get active and just feel better. They don’t have all the amenities a larger scale gym has but they make up for it with an inviting environment and knowledgeable staff.
